Xeikon has unveiled its latest innovation in Panther inkjet technology: the Xeikon
PX3300HD, a cutting-edge 1200 dpi digital press designed for the high-end label segment.
Set to debut at drupa 2024, this five-color machine boasts a 330mm printing width and
impressive speeds of up to 70 m/min, even when applying high-opacity white. The Xeikon
PX3300HD introduces the PX-Cure LED HD ink series, for impeccable curing and aligning
with sustainability goals for converters.
“As inkjet technology continues to mature, there’s a clear need to update Xeikon’s Panther
portfolio with a higher resolution option to meet specific customer requests. Consequently,
we’re now introducing a 1200 dpi engine to complement the existing 600 dpi product range,”
states Jeroen Van Bauwel, Director Solution Design. “The new Xeikon PX3300HD will
extend the capabilities for printers by giving them the tools to reach excellent quality at even
higher productivity levels in a TCO-friendly way (Total Cost of Ownership).”
This state-of-the-art press combines exceptional image quality and resolution with
outstanding productivity, leveraging Xerox W-Series industrial inkjet printheads equipped
with specialized waveforms and screening software from Xeikon. Moreover, the PX3300HD
is primed for hybrid printing, offering the option to integrate Xeikon’s modular inline LCUs
(Label Converting Units) and a large unwinder for uninterrupted production runs.
Driving the efficient print workflow is the robust Xeikon X-800 DFE (Digital Front End),
delivering swift job turnaround and just-in-time delivery. The software includes
comprehensive color management capabilities, with each X-800 equipped with a Pantone
license for seamless conversion of the latest Pantone colors. Additionally, the standard
press configuration features operational support with an inline camera for quality inspection.
This feature automates adjustments for registration, stitching, and compensation for missing
nozzles, mitigating the challenge of finding skilled staff while prolonging printhead lifespan
and ensuring consistent high quality.
