Epson will showcase three digital printing solutions that address different label production
requirements: the SurePress L-6534VW industrial digital label press and the ColorWorks
C6550A and C8050 on-demand colour label printers. The exhibition announcement positions
the range around production flexibility, reduced waste and faster response to customer
requirements.
The SurePress L-6534VW is a UV inkjet digital label press designed for commercial and
industrial production. Published product information describes a single-pass inkjet system
with printing speeds of up to 50 m/min, with additional print modes for different production
requirements. Its configuration can include CMYK with high-opacity white or orange,
extending the range of colours and substrates that can be handled.
An important feature is its digital varnish capability, which supports matte, glossy and spot-
UV effects. The system can also produce tactile and other specialised effects through its
varnish capabilities and print modes. The press is designed to work with a range of
labelstocks and film substrates, including textured papers.
The ColorWorks models address on-demand colour label printing, rather than the same
industrial production segment as the SurePress. They are relevant to businesses that need
to print their own labels in-house, particularly where quantities vary, product information
