HP’s digital education program “CLAP” empowers over 350,000 individuals in Indian villages

HP's commitment to bridging the digital divide shines through its CLAP (Creating Learning and Advancement Possibilities) initiative, which has become a beacon of technological empowerment for rural education in India. Through the deployment of 30 fully equipped mobile learning centers, this initiative has reshaped the educational landscape in 200 Indian villages, positively impacting over 350,000 individuals.

This transformative initiative is not limited to India alone; HP's global efforts have reached an astounding 21 million people, with an ambitious goal of touching 150 million lives by 2030. At the core of these efforts are HP India's programs, designed to promote digital education and empowerment. Through strategic investments and partnerships, HP is focused on eliminating the digital gap, especially for women, girls, marginalized communities, and educators, championing equal access to education and economic opportunities.

Gurpreet Singh Brar, Vice President, HP India market said, “We firmly believe that addressing the digital divide is a stepping stone toward a more inclusive society. Our ongoing efforts will continue to drive positive change, foster sustainability, and work towards building a more inclusive digital ecosystem that benefits all members of the community. By empowering individuals with the ability to navigate and harness technology, we aim to break down barriers and unlock new avenues for growth and development."

HP's impact is further amplified through its World on Wheels (WoW) program, which deploys solar-powered mobile learning labs to remote areas. These labs, equipped with HP technology, have provided digital literacy, education, entrepreneurial resources, and citizen services to approximately 650,000 people in rural regions. Additionally, the HP Accessible Learning for All (ALFA) program has played a crucial role by outfitting over 2,000 classrooms and introducing cutting-edge laboratories in government- and NGO-run schools. This initiative has significantly enhanced the quality of education for more than 620,000 students, promoting digital learning and nurturing the potential of the future generation.

HP's multifaceted approach not only transforms lives but also serves as a testament to the power of technology in fostering inclusive education and empowering communities worldwide. Through these initiatives, HP continues to pave the way for a more equitable and digitally connected future.
