NEW ON THE BLOCK
Screen Releases High-Speed, Water-Based Inkjet System for Flexible Packaging Market

Screen Graphic Solutions Co., Ltd. has announced the commencement of orders for the Truepress PAC 830F, an innovative high-speed, water-based inkjet system tailored for flexible packaging, starting from October 2, 2023. In response to growing concerns about environmental issues, such as marine plastic pollution and the need for a decarbonized society, companies in the packaging industry have been collaborating to enhance their supply systems. Additionally, brand owners are keen on diverse packaging designs to attract customers and boost sales. These trends have led to a demand for small- to medium-lot printing in the flexible packaging sector, emphasizing efficiency and environmental sustainability.

Recognizing these industry shifts, Screen GA began developing a new inkjet system in 2020, aiming to meet market demands while ensuring high-quality output. After receiving feedback from customers, Screen GA has launched the Truepress PAC 830F. This highspeed inkjet system, utilizing drop-on-demand inkjet technology, can handle film up to 830 millimeters wide at a remarkable speed of 75 meters per minute, offering a resolution of 1200 dpi x 1200 dpi. With a built-in primer coater enhancing ink adherence, the system achieves a resolution of 1200 dpi. Moreover, its CMYK and white water-based inks adhere to food safety regulations, ensuring both safety and color consistency, crucial factors for the food products industry.

The digital front end (DFE) for the Truepress PAC 830F is powered by Equios, which has been optimized exclusively for this system. Equios not only facilitates high-speed printing but also provides advanced color management capabilities. Unlike conventional analog printing, the Truepress PAC 830F reduces working hours and the need for highly skilled staff due to its streamlined processes and quick job changes, making it especially responsive for processing small lot jobs ranging from 2,000 to 4,000 meters. The system handles both PET and OPP media, and Screen GA is actively working to expand its compatibility based on industry requirements.

Screen GA is committed to understanding market needs ahead of other manufacturers in the package printing field. By incorporating these insights into their product functions and solutions, the company aims to contribute significantly to the overall growth of this segment, supporting a sustainable and efficient future for the packaging industry.
