In celebration of its 150-year legacy as a global frontrunner in print solutions, Konica Minolta
orchestrated a nationwide tree plantation initiative. This endeavor laid the groundwork for
150 trees across 13 cities in India, strategically covering all branch offices of the organization.
This significant step forward was part of Konica Minolta’s ongoing ‘Prayaas’ Initiative,
resulting in the planting of a total of 1950 trees. The comprehensive plantation drive took
place from September to November 2023.
Aligned with its commitment to promoting well-being and a superior quality of life, the event
witnessed enthusiastic participation from clients, partners, and dedicated employees. This
initiative stands as a testament to Konica Minolta’s fulfillment of its stated objective to plant
4000 trees within a three-year period from 2021. Additionally, Konica Minolta has fine-tuned
its corporate strategy to effectively offset CO2 emissions generated through its business
operations, extending this effort across clients, vendors, and suppliers.
As part of its commitment to achieving net-zero CO2 emissions throughout the product
lifecycle by 2050, Konica Minolta strongly upholds the principle of "advocating for the
restoration and preservation of biodiversity," a cornerstone of the organization's Eco Vision
2050. The recent plantation drive stands as a tangible demonstration of responsible action
aimed at mitigating climate change, harmonizing perfectly with the organization's long-term
vision.
Commenting on the resounding success of the plantation drive, Katsuhisa Asari, Managing
Director, Konica Minolta Business Solutions India, said, “Leaning into our long-term
management vision, we conducted a country-wide plantation drive in efforts to contribute to
Konica Minolta’s global vision of ‘Carbon Minus’ status by 2050. The plantation drive reflects
intentional internal action that captures growth in a sustainable manner.”
Asari adds, “Given the urgency of global environmental issues, global businesses like
Konica Minolta have a great responsibility to help build a more sustainable society by
reducing environmental impact, and with Eco Vision 2050, Konica Minolta exemplifies its
determination to fulfil its long-term environmental responsibilities. We believe that this
endeavour inspires our value partners to engage in carbon reversing initiatives, that
compound in value, that can be availed by future generations.”
The plantation initiative was strategically scheduled across several cities, including
Bengaluru, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Kochi, Chennai, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Jaipur,
Gurgaon / Delhi NCR, Pune, Mumbai, Ahmedabad / Gandhinagar, and Kolkata.
