Electronics For Imaging (EFI) has introduced the new EFI Vutek h3+ and h5+ hybrid flatbed/roll-fed LED printers, re-engineered versions of their high-volume, superwide-format hybrid Vutek h series machines. These updated models offer enhanced printing and media handling capabilities, setting a new standard in versatility and performance.
One of the most significant enhancements with the Vutek h+ series is the improved media handling capabilities. The upgraded vacuum table provides better control of thicker media and thin-light-edged materials, with double the vacuum strength on the print table. New media hold-down rollers and spring rollers force media into the vacuum, reducing the need for additional accessories like Media Edge Guide (MEG) skis.
The Vutek h+ series also introduces new optional color configurations, including CMYKcmyk + W + Clear, CMYK x 2 + 2W, and CMYK x 2 + Clear, offering greater flexibility and customization options for printing applications.

EFI has extended the offering of their UltraClear Coat flexible ink to the Vutek h3+ and h5+ printers, providing increased protective qualities and a gloss or matte finish. Additionally, the new EFI Vutek Endura Clear ink offers a harder surface finish for enhanced protection and decorative applications.
The printers also feature an innovative Gloss+ print mode, a new software capability that adds a flood or selective gloss effect to prints, enhancing their visual appeal.
Compatible with the Vutek h+ series printers are the next-generation, LED-curable digital inks known as EFI Transform-TF inks. These inks offer outstanding elongation characteristics and excellent adhesion and opacity, making them ideal for various interior and exterior applications.
Further developments for the Vutek h+ series printers include enhanced double-sided printing capabilities for high-value block-out applications.
Existing Vutek h3 and h5 printer owners can opt to upgrade their units with most of the new enhancements offered by the Vutek h+ series printers, ensuring they stay at the forefront of printing technology.
