Canon India has joined hands with Future Schoolz, a leading consulting and training
organization for the printing and packaging sector, to introduce India’s first Certified Digital
Press Specialist (CDPS) programme. This initiative underscores Canon’s commitment to
strengthening the digital printing ecosystem by addressing the industry’s growing skills gap.
The programme is designed to upskill digital press operators, supervisors, and managers,
offering structured learning through a blend of online modules, assessments, and practical
tests. It caters to both newcomers looking to build foundational skills and experienced
professionals aiming to advance their expertise in digital press operations.
Successful participants will earn internationally recognized certification, enhancing their
employability while enabling businesses to benefit from operators capable of improving
productivity, minimizing waste, and ensuring consistent print quality.
Speaking on the collaboration, C Sukumaran, Senior Director, Products & Communication,

We are targeting to add at least 200 such professionals in next couple of years who will add
value to current ecosystem of Cutsheet Digital Printing Industry in India.”
The curriculum spans all key aspects of digital printing technology, including machine
operations, paper handling, ink management, colour accuracy, workflow optimization, and
environmental practices. By producing a pool of certified professionals, Canon India and
Future Schoolz aim to empower entrepreneurs, print service providers, and the broader
industry with future-ready talent.

The Certified Digital Print Specialist programme, jointly developed by Future Schoolz and
Canon India, is designed to set a new benchmark in professional expertise for the digital
printing industry. The programme combines industry-standard online learning modules,
interactive sessions led by Future Schoolz and Canon’s technical specialists, as well as
mandatory examinations and hands-on training on Canon’s state-of-the-art digital printing
equipment.
Beyond skill development, the initiative directly addresses one of the industry’s biggest
challenges—the shortage of qualified digital printing professionals—while creating a
structured pathway to certification. The inaugural batch of this pioneering programme is
scheduled to commence in November 2025.
