Epson has expanded its SureColor S-Series with the launch of the SureColor S8170, a highperformance
solvent printer engineered for professional sign makers and large-format print
providers. Designed to deliver both speed and precision, the new printer achieves over 20%
faster print speeds than its predecessor while maintaining exceptional image quality.
Built for productivity, the SureColor S8170 features a 6-color UltraChrome GS3 ink set,
including Light Cyan and Light Magenta, which minimize banding and ensure smooth
gradations, even at high speeds. The fast-drying ink formulation supports same-day
lamination, making it ideal for fast-turnaround signage, vehicle wraps, and display graphics.
At its core is Epson’s latest PrecisionCore Micro TFP printhead with Nozzle Verification
Technology and an integrated temperature sensor, ensuring consistent color and reliable
performance print after print. The printer’s hot-swap ink system allows automatic switching
between 800mL and 1,500mL ink packs during operation, maximizing uptime and reducing
interruptions.
Compact and user-friendly, the SureColor S8170 includes a 4.3-inch touchscreen and a
robust media feeding and tension system for stable, accurate printing across various
substrates such as vinyl, canvas, banner, and paper.
Adding to its efficiency, Epson bundles the printer with ONYX Go Plus, Epson Edge Print Pro
RIP, and Epson Cloud Solution PORT, providing powerful tools for workflow automation,
production monitoring, and fleet management.
